Check Christian County Restricted Custody Releases

To find someone released from Christian County Jail Restricted Custody Center, treat the program as part of the county jail rather than as a separate prison or independent roster. Restricted custody and work release remain custody even when a participant leaves for approved work or programming. Final release is confirmed through the Christian County Jail booking record, with Kentucky corrections records added for a state-sentenced person. The key question is whether jail authority ended, not whether the person was seen away from the building during an authorized interval.

Restricted Custody Release Paths

The Christian County Jail Restricted Custody Center is a work-release or restricted-custody component operated through the same jail administration. It is not a separate county jail, state prison, or independent search universe. A person can leave the secure setting for authorized work, a program, treatment, court, or another approved purpose while remaining legally in custody. Seeing the person outside does not establish discharge.

Final release can follow sentence completion, a court order, transfer, or another lawful end to the jail placement. The Christian County Jail booking record is the main source because the jail administration holds the release and transfer records for this component. When the participant is serving a Kentucky state sentence locally, KOOL adds the state status, location, supervision, and projected-date layer.

Custody boundary: An approved work or program interval is movement within custody, not a final release from Christian County Jail authority.

Confirm Restricted Custody Release

Begin with the official Christian County Jail listing gateway. It links BlueHorse, which has Current and Past Inmate paths. Search both because a restricted-custody participant may remain a current jail booking even when physically away for an approved interval. The Past side is appropriate only after the booking has moved out of current status.

  1. Search BlueHorse Current Inmates with minimal name data.
  2. Check Past Inmates and use Past 24 Hours or a date range when an exit is reported.
  3. Open the matching booking and note booking number, admission date, release date, holds, and court data.
  4. Use KOOL if a state sentence, parole, probation, or DOC placement is plausible.
  5. Ask the jail for the exact release disposition or transfer recipient when public fields do not resolve the destination.

Match middle name, DOB or age, physical details, booking number, case number, and DOC number where available. Never merge records just because names match. Record the source and access time because neither the jail nor vendor promises minute-by-minute updates.

Restricted Custody Status Differences

The most common error is to treat a program movement as a custody exit. Several statuses can look similar from outside but have different records and consequences. The booking record, court authority, and DOC status should agree before a final release is stated.

Event Custody meaning Best source
Approved work interval Jail custody continues Jail program or booking record
Move between jail components Same administration retains custody Christian County Jail
Community release Jail booking ends, subject to supervision or conditions Past booking and release record
State transfer County placement ends but DOC custody continues Jail transfer entry and KOOL
Parole or probation Community supervision, not jail custody KOOL and District 2 office

A release date shows the recorded end of the booking. It may still mark transfer. Read holds and receiving-agency clues before saying the person returned to the community.

Restricted Custody Records Contact

The restricted component does not have a separately documented public custodian. Direct a booking or discharge request to Christian County Jail, which administers the program and holds the relevant release or transfer record. Ask for an existing, booking-specific record rather than a custom explanation.

A focused request identifies the full name, booking number or DOB, and approximate admission date. Seek the booking sheet, restricted-custody placement entry, release date and time, disposition, releasing authority, receiving agency, and holds at exit. Kentucky’s Open Records Act allows a qualifying written request through accepted hand, mail, fax, or email channels. The agency generally issues a written decision within five business days, but production can take longer for stored or complex material.

Request an electronic copy and a fee estimate. If information is withheld, ask for the segregable nonexempt remainder and the precise legal basis. Do not guess a local copy fee that the jail has not published.

Restricted Custody State Sentences

Some people serving a state sentence can remain in a local jail placement. For them, Christian County Jail documents the local booking and physical move, while Kentucky Online Offender Lookup supplies DOC status. Search KOOL by DOC number when known, or use a minimal name and compare every plausible result. Read current location, supervision status, projected release data, and the DOC or PID identifiers.

KOOL is not a complete archive of every restricted-custody participant. A short local jail stay with no DOC involvement may never appear there. A projected release date is a sentence estimate that can change due to credit, court action, parole, recalculation, or another hold. It is not the actual Christian County release date. DOC also warns that recent data may not be finalized, so confirm an important conflict with the jail or DOC.

Restricted custody
A less restrictive jail placement that remains legal custody.
Work release
Approved outside work while the sentence or custody status continues.
Projected release
A changeable sentence estimate, not proof of discharge.
Discharge
The end of the displayed custody or supervision term.

Supervision After Restricted Custody

Leaving restricted custody does not automatically mean parole or probation. A person may finish a local sentence with no DOC supervision, receive probation through the court, leave a state sentence on parole, or enter mandatory reentry supervision. Preserve the exact status. Probation is a court-imposed community sentence. Parole is conditional release from a prison term. Mandatory reentry is a separate statutory mechanism.

Use KOOL first to check county of supervision and current status. Christian County’s DOC District 2 Probation and Parole office is at 512 South Clay Street in Hopkinsville and lists (270) 889-6530. The jail’s reentry role and the community-supervision office are different. Reentry assistance at the jail does not prove parole, and a District 2 assignment does not mean the person is still confined.

An absconder status means the supervision agency reports loss of contact or noncompliance. It is not proof of a new conviction or a new Christian County booking. Check the current jail list and the responsible supervision or warrant source separately.

Restricted Custody Court Authority

The Christian County court file can show the order that created, changed, or ended a local sentence or release condition. CourtNet may preserve bond, disposition, sentence, probation, revocation, or dismissal after a jail entry leaves the public list. For felony matters, check both District and Circuit paths because preliminary proceedings can move to a later Circuit case.

A docket event establishes legal authority, not the minute jail staff completed discharge. Ask the Christian Circuit Court Clerk for the docket plus the identified order, then pair the case number with the jail booking number. Another hold or sentence can keep custody in effect after one order changes. The Christian County released-inmate search explains how these county and state layers fit together.

Older court files may be onsite, archived, or disposed of under the governing schedule. If archived, obtain the case or file locator from the clerk before contacting the State Records Center. A name alone may not be enough for the archive to locate it.

Restricted Custody Transfer Checks

A move from the restricted component can lead to the main jail, another county, Kentucky DOC, federal custody, or an immigration agency. None of those is the same as community release. Follow a state sentence in KOOL. Use BOP only for sentenced federal custody, remembering that USMS can move federal pretrial prisoners before a BOP record appears. Use ICE’s locator only when the jail record supplies a factual immigration clue.

The best continuity check uses two sources: the Christian County exit entry and the receiving system. “Not in BOP custody” does not prove freedom, and a missing ICE result does not prove release. If the jail record shows a detainer, describe the event as pickup or transfer unless the responsible agency confirms otherwise. Note: Restricted custody changes the setting, but only the source release record establishes the end of custody.

Restricted Custody Identity Checks

A restricted-custody participant can have a county booking number, a court case number, and, for a state sentence, a DOC or PID number. Use these identifiers to connect the records. A shared name is not enough. Compare DOB or age, middle name, booking date, physical description, conviction county, and status before deciding that sources refer to one person.

Save the access date and exact wording. BlueHorse records the county episode. KOOL records the state custody or supervision layer. CourtNet records legal authority. A work-release schedule or outside sighting is not a substitute for any of them. When dates conflict, ask the jail or DOC for the current source computation and explain the conflict rather than choosing the earliest date.
